Background:
Rising energy costs together with more complex IT infrastructures have made data center energy efficiency one of today’s top priorities.   Correspondingly, accurate measurement and management of energy consumption and smarter utilization of IT assets presents a “green” data center market that’s forecasted to exceed $40 billion by 2015.

Mike Rowan, a serial entrepreneur with deep technical knowledge and a clear vision for customer-centric product innovations, will speak on the future of data center energy resource management (ERM), as well as his lessons learned from the road in bringing a new technology to market.  His talk will include discussion of several of today’s most pressing data center challenges including, the need to reduce power consumption and cooling costs, as well as increase utilization of existing equipment and space.  He will also introduce his company, Viridity Software – a young, VC-backed leader in this market, and explain how it is helping data centers to tackle this increasingly business critical challenge.
