New Webinar Discusses How to Eliminate Power & Cooling Waste in Your Data Center

Earlier this month, Mike Tresh, Director of Product Management at Viridity Software joined with Derek Schwartz & Daniel Skutelsky, Co-founders, Green Data Center Alliance for a live webinar.  Because this was one of our most popular webinars, we've posted a recorded version on our website.  So, if you missed it, you've got another chance to view it.

For those of you who don't know, the Green Data Center Alliance is professional organization with over 6,400 members whose mission is to advance power reduction in the data center and to share knowledge and techniques for power reduction.  They share whitepapers, ideas and thoughts, strategy and processes, technologies and techniques - proven and conceptual - on their website.

On the webinar, the Green Data Center Alliance co-founders review their Data Center Energy Efficiency Framework (DCEEF) which provides a best practices guideline for data center efficiency.  The DCEEF:

  • Provides prescriptive measures for reducing power consumption and determining remediation
  • Offers prescriptive measures for IT, Facilities, Governance, and Finance
  • Bridges the gaps across the organization
    • IT v. Real Estate
    • Procurement v. Finance

The webinar also includes information about the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) that assists data centers in reducing energy costs through practical technical assistance and incentives while recognizing the importance of sustaining reliability and maximizing uptime.  And, there's a demo of Viridity EnergyCenter software.
